I've slowly come to a realisation over the years that The Island and the mythology that came along with it was just a backdrop for a show about people, and that more than came through in the finale. Sure I want answers, and I feel I've got more than enough of them, but for the diehards that watched LOST until the very end hoping that every answer would be presented in a box, nicely tied with a ribbon, I'm sorry, you probably didn't get what you wanted out of the finale.

This... this was a weird episode, well, to summarise anyway. Theories and speculation kinda went out the window, and stuff just HAPPENED. @warlach and @marawlings were on the money with their tweets >.<

Thoughts:

• Wow. That first glimpse of Anthony Cooper sent chills up my spine
• Did Locke plant that C4? Didn't look it, but why else would Widmore rig the plane? Is he in cahoots with him? Where the hell did he get it from, otherwise?
• Jack didn't need that "little push" this time around to get the Apollo Bar; is that symbolic of a Jacob free world?
• Sayid tells Jack to go save Desmond, but tells Jack that he's "the one"; is he The Candidate? Surely.
• *BOOM* goes Sayid 
• Sun and Jin die together. Thank you for ending it in Korean.
• Lapidus gone too? If not, what the hell is he still doing on that island?
• Screw you, Sawyer!
• Once again, Terry O'Quinn knocking that Flash Sideways scene with Jack out of the park
• Ok, so, MiB is 99% evil, as of the end of this episode. Obviously I am now expecting a MiB/Jacob backstory that will once again flip things on its head
• Three characters from season 1, episode 1, gone in minutes. I think it's safe to say LOST just kicked into ending mode

Executive Producers Damon Lindelof & Carlton Cuse discuss the rules & why Sawyer didn't know who Anakin was.

Thoughts:

• First impressions. Almost seems like this should've been aired consecutively with the next one as a two part episode
• After The Cliffside Cave and The Lighthouse, this ep was relatively light on mythology
• Where the hell is / what the frak happened to Sawyer?
• MiB has Sayid, Sawyer and Claire. Possibly Kate, considering where she ended up at the end of the ep
• Jacob has Hurley... and Jack?
• What's the deal with what / who can keep Smokey out? I thought it was the ash, but I doubt there was any surrounding The Temple, and it was instead Dogen.
• Do Jacob and MiB have certain parts of The Island they can inhabit?
• MiB is now "free", so why's he taking people along for the ride? Does he need another proxy [living], to leave The Island? Or is he just plain evil? That killing spree at The Temple did seem excessive.
• What's MiB going to do with all those suckers people?
• Keamy makes some mean eggs
• MiB details confirmed: takes the form of someone dead [on-island]  that you know
• Would Sayid actually have killed him if he didn't let Flocke blurt out that greeting?
• I don't get why Lapidus is there
• What are the chances we'll get an Ilana backstory, because she sure as hell knows a lot?
